CAPITAL COIN CORP

OUR HISTORY
After years of dairy farming, attending college, and working odd jobs, Art Van Weerdhuizen decided to pursue his passion of coin collecting full time. Along with his wife, Bev, he opened the doors of Capital Coin for the first time in the spring of 1981. Through the years, he strove to provide Salem and the greater Willamette Valley with honesty in business, quality in product, and integrity in service.
He passed on this legacy to his daughter and grandson as they worked by his side over the years. Lori, his daughter, worked with him from 1984 to 2005 and resumed again in 2012. His grandson, Josh, began working with him part-time in 2006 and full time by 2009 with the goal of taking over management after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in business. Sadly, Art passed away in May of 2013 after a short battle with cancer and was not here to see this dream become reality. Thankfully, his legacy lives on through his loved ones. Capital Coin is now a three-generation business, moving into the future while still holding on to its strong roots of the past.
